Rockabilly

Every Sunday in Tokyo’s Yoyogi Park, groups representing the wide array of Tokyo subcultures come out to meet likeminded individuals and do their thing. From the J-Pop bands that play along the perimeter of the park, to the imaginatively dressed “Harajuku Girls” at the entrance, to the jugglers, the ravers and the drummers, each group has a corner of the park that they call their own.
Of all the strange and interesting people you will encounter in Yoyogi, my favorite has to be the Rockabillies. These 50’s style greasers gather to do their best Elvis impressions in a hybrid of break, swing and line dance styles.

Hi Dan, how are you? This is amazing! Your work is so good, I remember seeing some of your pics a long time ago and saying that you should do something with your skills. You seemed kind of skeptical about it back then but what you have done is really amazing - and i am also jealous that you are traveling everywhere. I’ll have to foward your website to the Narst, she’ll be impressed if she hasn’t seen it yet.
